I have to agree with the author that all these wild spring "weeds" are more fun conceptually than tastewise. Fiddleheads are definitely not in the same category as asparagus, radishes, and my other favorite veggies, but they do provide a much needed diversion to the spring table.

Hope you get some in California soon, but since you get local veggies almost year round, they might not seem nearly as facinating as they do in New England.

Cheers,
-HelenHelenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12271344371852988017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17422713.post-1146334621099863972006-04-29T14:17:00.000-04:002006-04-29T14:17:00.000-04:00Hi foodcrazee,Your salad with coconut and lime lea...Hi foodcrazee,

Your salad with coconut and lime leaves sounds fantastic! The Thai even make a salad out of it - chopped lemongrass, kaffir limeleaves, garlic, sliced shallot, lime juice, chilli, dessicated coconut, sugar. Make a dressing and then add the blanched fiddlehead. Sprinkle with dessicated coconut and some crushed peanuts.FooDcrazEEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02819094686497050751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17422713.post-1146171054089733192006-04-27T16:50:00.000-04:002006-04-27T16:50:00.000-04:00I bought some today ;-) Cannot wait to try!I bought some today ;-) Cannot wait to try!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17422713.post-1146163091472993472006-04-27T14:38:00.000-04:002006-04-27T14:38:00.000-04:00I've never seen these, they look great!
