Apple Pie (and the Battle of the Pie Pans)


How to Bake and Apple Pie (and the Battle of the Pie Pans)

Filling:
5 Lb apples (honeycrisp, granny smith, or golden delicious)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup granulated sugar (70g)
1 Tbsp lemon juice

Make the filling as described in the video and cool completely

Baking procedure:
Preheat the oven to 425F with a foil lined baking sheet in the bottom third of the oven for 30 min.  Shape the pie in a disposable foil plate as shown in the video.  Bake on the preheated baking sheet for 1 hour or until deep brown.  Cool for 3 hours and serve the same day.

Using cardamon in equal measure with cinnamon is a wonderful combination enhancing flavor to apple pie.

Yes, I love cardamom with cinnamon. Great idea to combine them in an apple pie.
